Home of the $100 consultation
In 1993, Mead & Associates’ attorneys pioneered in providing initial consultations at a large discount from our standard hourly rates. This allows potential clients to evaluate us, obtain advice and learn more about their legal issues without a large financial commitment. Oftentimes, these consultations are one-time meetings for people who may never have spoken professionally with a lawyer before, but need answers to questions about consumer issues or help with completing forms for small claims court. For these clients, it’s a quick and inexpensive visit to the legal equivalent of an emergency room.
In recent years, some law firms have begun advertising free consultations. Mead & Associates has decided not to join this trend. So why should you choose to pay when you can get something for free?
In the first place, you will meet for an hour or more with a licensed attorney at Mead & Associates—not a paralegal or staff member whose primary job is to recruit you as a client and who cannot give you legal advice. Our lawyers will answer your questions, give you advice, and describe your options for resolving legal issues. You will be treated exactly the same whether you come seeking help collecting money from a friend or you own a business with numerous legal issues. If we cannot help you, we will try to give you the names of other attorneys who can.
Every consultation is different. However, Mead & Associates sometimes will credit the cost of the initial consultation against certain flat fee work—such as consumer bankruptcies or simple wills—when you decide to retain us during the initial consultation. Just ask the attorney at the time.
If you have a legal issue but aren’t sure how to handle it, call Mead and Associates, Attorneys at Law. We focus our practice on several areas, specifically business, family law, criminal defense, real estate and mediation. If you’ve got a problem let’s work together and determine how we can help you.
